I bought a Pismo last year that came with OS 9 installed. I bought 10.0.3 and loaded that. OS 9 seemed unstable and unfriendly to me . OS X seemed MUCH better to me. I was a clean slate, though.

Well actually I think X is much better today too, and from a clean slate I can understand your thoughts. However, why has the transition of OS X been so slow, Apple sold from the roll out date of 10.0 on 3-24-01 till 1-1-2003 approximately 3 million copies of X including the OS X installed on the new machines sold plus my 3 copies of 10.0 and every upgrade. I actually think the answer lies below.
