Does anybody know of any other programs for burning DVD-Videos on the
iMac apart from iDVD.

Yes, there are several programs that can create DVD-ready images for Toast to burn. There are a couple of programs that will burn SVCD or VCD discs (that's CD-R media, not DVD media) as well.

I don't like iDVD because it needs .mov files and
i have none!

Um ... you DO know that Quicktime Pro (and other programs) can *convert* those MPEGs to MOVs, right?

I have a pile of MPEGs that i want to burn. - Also _if_
possible, is there one that isn't too picky about the quality of the
file? Most of the videos i have won't play in Quicktime, only VLC.

You probably want FFMPEGX, or you might want to wait for Toast Titanium 6.

Failing that, anyone know any good VCD Writing software for OS X that
will accept AVI files and MPEG files, or a reliable encoder for the
files?

FFMPEGX. I use it all the time. I don't know if you'd call it "good" in the sense that it isn't very mac-like (naturally -- it's a GUI for a suite of UNIX programs), but it does the job. Altivec-friendly even!

Basicly, I have a bunch of videos that I would like to burn onto media
that my DVD player will use (DVD/VCD). - The files may be slightly
corrupt, i don't know, they just won't play in quicktime. - What
programs will do it?

I collect music videos, which come to me in all forms -- DIVX, MPEG, AVI, WMP, you name it. Between VLC and FFMEGX (and Toast for burning), and a few other helper tools, the only thing that stops me are Realplayer files ... but who cares about that stuff anyway! :)

Depending on the quality of the music video files, I may burn a VCD or an SVCD (the latter is MUCH higher quality, akin to SVHS). They play great in my Apex DVD and most other machines, but not at all (for some reason) on most Sony DVD players (including PS2's) that I run across. Pity.
