I thought I had updated the firmware when I loaded OS X but this had me
thinking so I looked in the monitor panel, while booted in OS 9 on a
separate partition from the Classic that's loaded with OS X, and 640 x 480
shows a refresh rate of 117 MHz.

But the actual firmware says not to bother because it's already been
updated to Firmware 4.1.9f1... so what's this about the refresh rate?

Pete.

Apparently that excessive refresh rate was thought to be part of the firmware update problem with the iMac video but now it seems that 117 Mhz is OK at that resolution and not a source of video anomalies.
