Could be that the RAM has gone south. Do you have 3rd party RAM in it?
I think running Disk Warrior on it was a good idea. But the fact that it worked for a while afterward may just be coincidence. Stranger things have happened.
My favorite troubleshooting step: create a new user and see if issue persists.
It could be any hardware device hooked to the Mac (this will bear out with a new user as well). Disconnect any device except keyboard and mouse and see if issue persists.
If it turns out to be software, do an archive and install of the OS.

I have a 1 gHz 17" FP Imac. Have been operating w/o problems for just over 1 year. Suddenly, 3-4 weeks ago I began to experience computer freeze. I noticed it first by seeing the screensaver stuck and would not respond. After tapping multiple keystroke combos with no result, I powered down and restarted. I have read that Norton is not the most Mac friendly piece of Utility software and have since stopped using it. I have used Disk Warrior again hoping to correct what ever was going on. I have used the Disk utility software that is with OS 10.2.6 and I still have these problems. I have AppleCare and will try them also. But, any ideas?
