Yes.
Me too. FREEZE.
My eMac is about 3 weeks old, and i have to do restarts:

iTunes & Mail (also netscape mail) do not get along.
Today, mail would not force quit.
There is more wrong here. I use iTunes all day as background music of my choice. Never had a conflict with mail. I'm a telecommuter so I run mail and use excel and photoshop almost all day long. iTunes plays very nice with other programs.

Force quit of Netscape did not fix the problem.
Can't speak to Netscape. I only use Netscape 4.78 with OS 9.
Restart was required.

[Possibly; repair of Disk Permissions would fix things]
Three weeks old, you are well within the warranty period. Call Apple Care, let them at least know what is occurring and open a case file. Certainly repair permissions with disk utility. Assuming the eMac is as Apple turned it out, stock hardware, no hacks, etc. then something is wrong. Call Apple Care. You have 90 days of free phone support (3 years if you bought Apple Care). It's OK to use it.

Check out the eMac forums at Apple.com and see if others have reported similar problems. System freezes with OS X are not normal and always indicate some conflict. Often with a hack. Doesn't mean don't use them, there are some I am very fond of and use daily, but that is still one of the likely culprits if you are getting system freezes with OS X.
