AFAIK, there is no such thing as a real Japanese OSX, except that you choose which language you want to use as primary language when you install, and then make it 'real' somehow. All fonts and stuff is generic with the OSX installation if you don't deselect them. The important stuff is if all applications that are necessary have the Japanese lproj-file in them. OSX is wonderful in this respect. But I wonder if you are able to install 10.1 on that G4 iMac, as it could be newer than the operating system.
