It's worth noting that if you have two machines that both have Firewire on them that are in relatively close proximity to each other, you can achieve VASTLY faster transfer speeds with a FW cable and "FW Target Disk Mode". I don't have the KnowledgeBase article bookmarked, but it's very straightforward:

1. Connect two macs via firewire.
2. Restart one of them, holding down the T key.
3. After a short time, the hard drive of the restarted Mac will show up on the other Mac.
4. Drag and copy files at amazing speeds.
5. IMPORTANT: when finished, unmount the mounted "guest" HD by dragging it to the trash BEFORE disconnecting the machines!

Chas, will this work if one of the machines did not have Firewire originally? My Rev. B has the HARMONi upgrade from Sonnett; can it be connected to my FP iMac this way?
