While I haven't tried my Rev. B with a monitor, I've tried it with something that's ALMOST a monitor. When I want to record something off the iMac and onto a videotape, I crack the case and plug a Mac monitor to composite video adapter into that 15 pin port (using a standard Mac monitor cable). Then I plug the composite video out from the adapter and the sound outputs from the iMac into my VCR.
