smalldog.com (mac reseller) put out a newsletter today that tells how
to backup with CCC, and it seems I've been doing it wrong.
They maintain that you need to make a Boot partition on the backup HD
and then boot from that BEFORE running the backup from your regular HD.
I have not been doing that.
Would like to know from those who know more about this...

I haven't read the Smalldog article, but as you describe it, they are wrong.


Carbon Copy Cloner (CCC) makes a complete CLONE of your hard drive, so if the hard drive is bootable, the backup is also bootable. No special preparations necessary.
