Nut if the display circuit is buggered then how can one get it to work? It doesn't have a PCI slot... ---
Yank it, connect a hacked ATX power supply, and use it in some custom case
I am intending on making a custom Mac which is why I am looking for an iMac with a screwed screwed screen (as opposed to curcuitry).
But why an ATX PSU ??? What's wrong with the original in the iMac ? ---
(or give it to me and I'll do that).
Even if I wanted to, which I don't ;o) it wouldn't be worthwhile as I live in Sweden... ---
This of course assumes it is a model with VGA out, but you do mention it is a DV model, and I think they all had the VGA output on the back.
Correct. --- The guy has mentioned that at one point he saw that the heatsink had fallen off the graphics part. Also, he has fitted a 7200rpm harddrive and does say that the fault appears after a short time of using it, but is varied and erratic behavior typical of the firmware bug...
