I have direct experience of the iMac/OS X/Firmware bug as I bought
a 400DV iMac with a believed magneticly damaged screen which was
fixed with an updated firmware.

However, I have now been offerend another iMac 400DV which was
upgraded to OS X, but the problems didn't start until about 2 weeks
after the upgrade...

It is too far away to test with a Firmware upgrade, which if the case,
would spoil my chances of getting it cheap. Catch 22...

QUESTION:

Is it possible for this bug to show up at a later stage (as it appears
to be an intermittent thing anyway) or is it immediate ???
