The first thing to look into is WHY are you now getting booted when idle. Is it a change at the ISP, or is the new D-Link device causing a problem.
It has definetly started with the connection of the new router. ---
2nd: If using OS X, check out the CRON utility (its a command line thing).
I've never used any command line programs, but I'll try it when I get a chance.
