I have a D-Link DI-713P w/ 3 port switch, wireless, print server, and it never disconnects.
In the web utility for the router (192.168.0.1 in your favorite browser). On the setup page, 7th line down Maximum Idle Time.
And other than that it never disconnects except for a rare outage.

I have to confess that I have not actually gone in on the setup page, except for when I first tried the router at work. I did update the firmware but I haven't done anything since connecting it here at home.
I will have a look at the setup page first.
