I've been trying to put it off, but alas, I'm in a situation where I have to
buy a PC computer or get Virtual PC . I'd rather NOT buy a PC if I can
avoid it, but would appreciate input from those with experience whether
the Virtual PC program works okay, or is it a big pain?

Also, I notice they offer three versions: Windows XP Pro; Windows XP Home
and Windows 2000. Any suggestions on this aspect?

Thanks very much for any info and suggestions. Zippy

I'd go with Windows 2000 Pro. From my experience, it was the most stable of the Windows. From opinions of my Windows using friends, XP is trouble from the "activation" requirement, to the massive security holes.
