Did you live in WI?? I'm in the back of beyond up here, and without my APC, I'd have fried everything long ago. Indeed, the worst I've had is a line surge in the PHONE line, which zapped my internal modem. APC not only replaced the backup system, but paid for replacing the modem. Well worth the $80 I spent on it originally!

I once lived in an area with very poor electrical distribution and continual line power fluctuations. The only thing that saved us from continually replacing equipment was going to an UPS system (APC) with line conditioning.
