one thing i do is carry a simple circuit tester that plugs into an outlet and checks proper wiring and ground. It helps as a tech to ensure house wiring is correct when trouble shooting. (but that don't check load variances). you are using a properly grounded outlet? i hope. If you are in an older house more then likely you are using a 2 to 3 prong adapter. a special line may have to be run for computer from properly grounded breaker box. charles l.
