When you get back to OS 9 go to system profiler and check the firmware is
version 4.19f, if not update it. You will need OS 9.1, 9,2,1 or 9.2.2
installed to do this. Replacing the hard disk won't resolve this potential
problem as the firmware resides in the logic board.

Just to add to this - "firmware" is listed as "boot ROM version" under "production" info.
