I read with interest the subject on converting AVI to MPEG, as I am hoping to be able to convert some AVI films to MPEG and then burn VCD (or SVCD) for my children to watch rather than wearing out the VCR...
However, out of all the VCDs that I have burned in different ways, e.g. Toast but also specific VCD programs, only one VCD has been recognized by my Samsung DVD player (supposed to recognize both VCD and SVCD), and what makes it worse is that this film is a ready made VCD Toast image I was given.
Does anyone know or have tips on how to create reliable VCD disks that play reliably in a DVD player as this all seems to be a magic art... :o(
Anything ? Anyone ?
Larry
