How do you identify a Twisted Ethernet Cable ( Crossover Cable)? I want to
connect a recently purchased iBook to my iMac.

Hold the two ends side-by-side and look closely at wire colours. If they are in the same order, it's a straight-thru cable, if different, it's a cross-over cable.

Most (all?) recent Macs have "auto-sensing" Ethernet. If your new iBook is one of these models, a straight-thru cable will suffice for networking the two computers.
