Only one computer has to have the auto sensing feature. Kind of makes sense, you only have to flip the wires on one end of a normal ethernet cable to get a crossover cable.


You must have an early G4 iMac that doesn't have it. The link above lists which Macs do and don't.


Yep, I have a 15". According to the article, only 17" 1 GHz (and I assume above) FP iMacs have the auto-sensing.
