Someone recently asked how to deal with iTunes not being able to find a just plugged in iPod on the Desktop. My daughter is having that problem (just after installing iTunes 4.5), and I couldn't find the solution which someone had helpfully posted. Could you answer the question again?
Thanks!

Patrick, a quick Google search showed that there's an iPod Update 2004-04-28. Developed for use with all iPods and iPod minis purchased before April 28, 2004, the new software offers compatibility with iTunes 4.5 and the new third-generation iTunes Music Store and improves playback support. What's more, Dock connector-equipped iPods and iPod minis can now support the new Apple Lossless encoder.

Did you also install that update?
