no safari

Hi, i just reinstalled panther, and i cant log in to safari, i can get 
to mail but not to the web, i have done this installation several times 
before with no problem, i follow the written instructions i have after 
installing jaguar  some time ago, and everything turns out fine, not 
today y dont know were i went wrong, any advice???????
