Thanks for that clarification. I have a question though, if the fax appears as a PDF, is there a way to edit it and send it out again. For example a questionnaire that I need to answer and return?
Not really, no.
There are workarounds -- you can print out the PDF form, fill it out, re-scan it and re-send it for example, or you could convert the PDF in Photoshop (or PS Elements or something like it), add your answers, then re-save it as a PDF (or TIFF) and re-send it ... or you could print the received fax out, fill it out and re-fax it using a "real" fax machine. :)
You could perhaps edit it in Acrobat Professional (which costs $249 or so IIRC), but I've owned AP for years and never figured that out ...
Adobe keeps promising us that ONE DAY, people will be able to easily design PDF forms that can be sent out, filled out by the receiver and sent back, all without having to buy expensive software (well, at least on the receivers end). To the best of my knowledge, that day hasn't happened yet, and it'll be a huge revolution when it finally does arrive.
