I really don't know but I think it might be a bad idea to install on a G4 and then move the drive to a G3. The OS X installer probably configures things differently based on the processor type.
This may not be a problem like I said I really don't know. It is sitting on to of a desk with nothing around it. It runs fine for a hour or two before it starts crapping out. I had a hard time getting OS 9 installed right on it. My 9.1 disk wouldn't boot it. The install I did from the G4 didn't work right when Classic started. I ended up having to install 9.1 from within Panther. Even then it wouldn't boot into 9.1. So I updated to 9.2.2 through Classic. I think I might try booting into 9.2.2 and doing the firmware update to see if that helps. Is there a easy way to get the top cover off?
