After all these years and 70+ macs, I finally got an iMac! Weee...
$80 for a rev B.
Anyway, I've noticed some weird issue with it...
If I choose "Restart" from the Special menu, it goes blanks, chimes, then does nothing but humms (no drive clicking noises)
If I choose "Shut down" from the Special menu, it goes blank, yet the power button remains green. Powering back up yields the same results as "Restart" does above.
What is this?
I formatted and installed 8.1. Didn't change anything.
I zapped the PRAM as well.
Could my PRAM battery be dead or dying? Or is there something else I could do?
