OK, folks, I've done it. I have placed my order for the new iMac. They won't
be shipping before Sept. 23rd, so I have time to do some reading. I am
jumping from OS 9.2 into Panther. Can anybody offer a suggestion for which
is the single best resource for a newbie jumping into OS X for the first
time, and that being the more advanced Panther?

HIGHLY recommended for people who are moving from OS 9 to OS X. The approach of the book is to show on side-by-side pages how (thing x) is done in OS 9 and how it's done in OS X. Tons of images, clear text that anyone can understand, guided so that you don't have to search the entire book just to find out how to set up freakin' new printer, etc.
