I was looking into wireless routers and it seems even the 802.11b needs IE
5.5 to operate and the g's require IE 6.
What the...?
If we're talking about setup using a browser then it doesn't matter, thats just what they recommend. That said, with my D-Link equipment, there is a problem that means that Safari isn't a good choice for configuring it, but checking status is ok, something to do with JavaScript.
IEEE802.11b/g is a networking standard, has zilch to do with browsers, and vice versa.
You can download any one of a number of free browsers and one of them will work without a problem, can't say which though. I use IE5.2.3 and don't have any problems.
I personally would ignore it.
