DragThing is another very good Dock replacement. Almost infinitely customizable. And it includes a Trash can to boot. > > >Return the Application Menu to the right side of the Menu Bar. > > hum. eh. > > I'd like a nice launch menu tho, a la AliasMenu. I do miss the App menu a little, but Command-Tab (OS X version of Window's Alt-Tab) is actually quite handy and when you hit "q", you quit that specific app, or "h" to hide it. Also, DragThing and other Dock replacements often have specific docks for running Apps, which is essentially the App menu. > > >Put the trash can on the desktop wherever I want it to be. OS X includes a program called Grab that's in the Utilities folder on your boot drive. I used it instead of Command-Shift-3, since I don't like the PDF screenshots either. You can screenshot a window, the whole screen, or a select any given rectange. Even has a timed mode (let's you snap the screen 10 seconds from when you say go). Then just cut-n-paste or save as needed. It would be nice if you could map Command-Shift-3 to use Grab instead. Anyone know how? Anyway, Ambrosia Software's Snapz Pro (as mentioned by someone else) is another option for screenshots. -Tony -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
