In regards to installing Linux on a Mac [iMac, eMac, PowerMac, etc...], 
Debian is difficult in comparison to either Yellow Dog or Mandrake.

I am running YDL 2.2 on a iMac 333-mhz [rev. C, 1999 build], and I am a 
long way from being an expert.
