Why can I not switch any of my Macs to 640x480 ?!?
Mac OS X interacts with different video cards in different ways. On my G3 iMac, 640x480 is supported, but it's not available on my G5 iMac (I think -- I'm not in front of it to check at the moment). There are programs out there that will allow you to override the "recommended" video choices, but I strongly urge caution -- you could permanently screw up the monitor.
