I mistook the tone of your email, so it's on me and I'm sorry; guess I'm just in a bad mood and should have kept my mouth shut if that is not how you meant it to be. I mistook some of your comments as implying I was a "lemming" or "dumb enough..." Back on topic, assuming you accept my apology, where in the user agreement does it say I can't use a multi-button mouse?

Well, I guess that answers my question as to what started the thread about "NASTY, RUDE, BITCHY feedback"

Why has Apple refused to develop a mouse with more than one button?

Multibutton mice are unnecessary, and against the original Mac OS user interface guidelines.

That being said, there are many 3rd party mice with multiple buttons and scroll wheels, that work just fine on Macs. Kensington's in particular comes with nice software with so many options you can confuse yourself into oblivion.

Are you suggesting that Apple needs to canibilize yet-another 3rd party market? IMO, they've already screwed over quite a few 3rd party hardware and software developers to last a lifetime.

It seems like everyone these days has moved on to two buttons and a scroll wheel,

Yup. Then again, you can say the same thing about the lemmings that use Windows.

On a related note, why do all mac keyboards remain so spartan compared to their PC counterparts?

Marketing. Windows users are dumb enough to believe that they need a key marked "Internet" to find the Internet.

Just program the keys you already have.

Think Different.
