I've already gladly accepted the correction re upgrades. After that, I think you're splitting hairs: "trayloader" and "slotloader" are well established as shorthand terms to distinguish between the earlier and later revisions of the (original G3) iMac, and not generally used to refer to later models. I don't think there was any ambiguity given the context of the original message.

However, in the interests of peace, harmony and the gaiety of nations:

The trayloading G3 iMacs didn't have Firewire built in.

(drops subject, wags tail, looks for something more interesting to sniff at).
