I've just inherited a G3 iMac DV 400 and have copied onto it the OS 9.2.2 system folder from my deceased G3 PowerBook. I'm running this iMac system folder off its internal hard drive, and all my programmes off a firewire-connected 80 gigs external drive.
There are a few things I would like help with please:- 1. The Monitor control panel doesn't show the geometry setting - I can click the geometry tab but the window is blank. The resolution and colour settings work fine. It's v8.6.3 running on OS 9.2.2. I rebuilt the desktop but no effect. 2. The internal memory is 64+64, PC100. Can I replace one of the 64's with a 256? What's the best price for a UK supplier? (Crucial don't seem to have any 256 in stock). The date and time keeps defaulting to midnight when I power up. I've zapped the PRAM but it's still the same.
