If you can afford it, I'd recommend putting a 512 MB stick from Crucial in, especially if you plan to upgrade to OS X at some point in the future. (My tangerine 400 DV has 768 MB RAM and an internal 120 GB 7200 RPM Samsung HD for speed and peace and quiet, and she runs OS X 10.3.9 very happily indeed, even handling Photoshop with reasonable aplomb for a computer of her vintage.) Failing that, keep a weather eye on eBay.co.uk. I'd search under 'Crucial 256 SDRAM', and check any listing against the specs on Crucial's website before bidding, but here they are: SDRAM, PC133 or PC100, CL=2 or 3, Unbuffered, Non-parity, 100MHz or 133MHz, 3.3V. There are a few auctions up as I write, so you should be able to pick up what you need there. > The date and time keeps defaulting to midnight when I power up. I bought one from Maplin before, but it was flat within 6 months, so I wouldn't necessarily urge you to use them. The last one I bought was from The Small Battery Company (www.smallbattery.company.org.uk), who I've used a few times and highly recommend. The battery you want is the 4th one down in the list on the left of their site: '1/2 AA thionyl'. They're cheap (£5.10) and offer fast, free delivery.
