Has anyone upgraded to tiger on a Blueberry 350 imac? Apple's website
says that firewire
is a requirement for Tiger, but then lists slot loading imacs as
upgradeable. The
blueberry 350 is slot loading, but without firewire.
Apple lists "Firewire" as a requirement not because Tiger actually
needs firewire, but because only Macs with on-board Firewire have the
ROM data necessary to install Tiger.
So no, the installer discs will not work on your machine.
There is a way around this -- a program called xPostFacto that will
probably allow you to install Tiger on that machine.
HOWEVER:
It will probably end up a fairly unsatisfactory experience. The
writing is on the wall: time to get a new(er) machine.
