Hi Guys -
The tray loading iMacs can handle up to 512 MB of RAM - 2x 256MB, as
long as it is of a specific type. I *believe* it is called low
density, but I'm not sure. See this excellent guide at Djonmac.com -

iMacs.
The lower slot (that has the original memory module) can only take a
low profile module.
