That's good to know. I'll just pop the hard drive into my firewire case and do the install from my iMac DV that officially supports Tiger. That will make life easier :-) >Since the drive is larger & faster, I can't directly compare 10.4 to >10.3. But I've heard from others that Tiger seems just as fast as >Panther, or a bit faster, when installed even on machines that don't >officially support it. I can say that 10.2 seems to drag on it, but I did notice my iMac DV felt much snappier when I went from 10.2 to 10.3, so assuming you are right, 10.4 hopefully will give me the same difference to the "feel" on the 333 tray loader when going from 10.2. >I can say it was running just fine with 384MB of RAM. I'm lucky, and >it happily upgraded to 512 last week when I put in the 256MB chip >from my just-abandoned Wallstreet. I have some other 256 MB chips to try out, I may have just had bad luck with the ones I've tested so far. I have two 233 iMacs running with 512 MB, so I'm pretty confident I can get the 333 to do it too... I just need to spend a little more time fighting it. Thanks for the info, it has given me enough of a push to be willing to give it a try going all the way to Tiger. -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
