Well, I did that. That was when I realized I'd mistaken the SGRAM for SRAM.

Pried off the CPU cage cover and eyeballed the top SODIMM. It turns out to be 512Mb! Strange, I'm thinking ...

Put the whole thing back together, tried to boot it.

Nuttin'. Amber light, chime, but no raster or other sign of life. Hmm, worse than before, when at least it would boot once after a rest ...

*sigh*


That machine cannot address the 512-  max is 256 Mb.
