Hi Everyone,
We just deployed IMAIL & KWM Templates on NT (coming from 6 years of stable
UNIX-SENDMAIL) and have been having a rough time. I know that much of this
is IP Switch, but I wondered if I have a config. issue with the templates
or something....We have some level 2 Techs from IP Switch helping, but
wondered if ya'll have any insight.
(1) We've noticed that POP and WEBMSSG services 'die' several times
throughout the day when we have multiple admins working in the WEB GUI
resetting passwords or adding accounts. I think it is correlated to the
admin use b/c we do not have this performance issue at night, even with 270
simultaneous connections to these services - -which is less than the normal
during the day. Running SQL DB on separate server from IMAIL with about 4K
mail accounts.
(2) When adding virtual hosts via the WEB GUI, it defaults to the IMail DB
and there is no option to specify the external DB -- why not?
(3) The disk space limit is having intermittent problems --- we notice it
warns us on some accounts and not others (sometimes I think it is because
there is one giant e-mail that takes up the space, which would be hard to
warn about, but there are others who just have a ridiculous amount of text
e-mail and there was no warning). Sometimes, the left menu (that contains
the list of Folders and displays the mailbox usage meter) just does not
appear on certain accounts in the same browser. When we create a folder,
it doesn't appear either...and it is still receiving new messages. Why is
this?
(4) Anyone notice any problems with subscribers checking their e-mail via
Netscape Messenger 4.7 or Eudora Light on both MAC and PC? They keep
getting a "transfer" error -- and we check their settings and their
Internet connex. is not flaky. Sometimes, it is because the POP service
needed to be rebooted during the transfer, but even after the reboot and
with POP consistently up, it is still having problems.
(5) Any reported issues with certain versions of Outlook Express and IMail?
Any thoughts, suspicions, tips, tricks, advice welcome...our subscribers
are demanding we go back to our sendmail system and now we are wondering if
we should. It's been the LONGEST 2 weeks of our lives!
