-The users on my server have had a large number of emails returned to them as if they sent them. -These returned emails almost always have viruses attached to them when they went out. -There is no evidence that the mail was sent through the Imail server and it is obvious that the reply addresses on the emails has been spoofed.
There are some viruses that will send themselves out as pretend bounce messages. That's very likely the case here.
Does anyone know how I can stop or slow this problem?
Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do (aside from adding virus protection, of course). You could look up the owner of the IP range that the viruses are coming from, and contact them, but often that is futile.
