I have only seen this if there is a corrupted message in their box.
Usually either having them log in the web interface and deleting it
or opening up the Imail Client on the server and deleting it is the
only way to fix it.

Could be different in your case but that is what has happened here
on a few occasions.  Even with our previous mail server.
