Well to be honest that was the original idea broached by Ipswitch to me.
After discussions, they thought my idea was a bit better, but I see no
reason why we couldn't ask for both. They haven't promised to actually do
these things, but they have made a commitment to look at them and see what
they could do. I think their offer to devote some time to development on
these ideas is very generous and shows a maturity beyond other companies.
This type of friendly customer service is also why I am loath to leave
Ipswitch for other products! I have experienced that through patience and a
willingness to work with them that often times you end up getting what
you'ves asked for. What other company will do that?
The lead programmer I spoke with told me he could start working on some of
this in about two weeks, provided he isn't stopped by those evil marketing
fellows ;0 so we'll see what happens. I'll add your suggestion to my list
and send a revised list to him tonight along with any others we generate
here.
