Let me throw this at you...
All of your suggestions are fine and we do utilize some of what
each of you mention. However, if a person outside of our system
(someone we don't host, heck, don't even know) sends an email to
an alias of someone we do host, the msg is rejected as neither
email address (sender or receipient) is recognized as a local user.
[EMAIL PROTECTED] (we don't host microsoft... ;-)
sends a msg to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (we host abc)
[EMAIL PROTECTED] aliases to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (john is our
customer)
The above scenario does not allow the email to complete its
journey and make it to our customers email box.
This is the scenario that is giving us fits. Especially for domains that
have a host administrator... they add an alias and it doesn't work...
