Actually, you don't have to do that at all, and I recommend that you don't.
What you should do on your web server is install a 3rd party tool that you
can access from .ASP to handle your email for you.
We use JMail for this... it is free, it performs well, and it's very solid.
The best thing about this approach is that you don't have to run SMTP, so
your IMAIL installation can go untouched. In the best of all worlds,
however, you would have your mail server on a different box than your web
server... but that's just an opinion.
