Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] SMTP errors from my system to one of my
Imail servers Thanks all for your
advice. Turns out I had someone trying to send HUGH attachments via email and
the SMTP service was so busy it couldnt respond to my requests. The thing that
threw me was that the Web interface was working when Outlook
wasnt. Im going to have to
set hard limits on the max email size. It hasnt been a problem until now. Last
week I had a guy try to send a 24M attachment! Then, he complains because it
wont complete! Geeze! Perhaps I need to start an email training or
something. Troy

when trying to send an email using OE thru Imail 1: The connection to the
server has failed. Account: 'Declude', Server: 'mail.imail1.com', Protocol:
SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number:

error message has not told me much other than the port 25 is being blocked or
that my mail server is not accepting connections. Could it possibly be a
virus? Troy

On Behalf Of Troy D.
Hilton Sorry. A little more
background. 1)
Imail 2 is
using port 25 as well. I can telnet to it without issue. Its only Imail 1 that
gives me issues. 2)
I host
these servers myself so I am my own ISP. To get to these servers I need go no
further than my own firewall. The trick of this is
that, to my knowledge, nothing has changed on my firewall or my network.

On Behalf Of Darin Cox Is IMail 2 also on port 25?
What ISP are you using? Some ISPs block currently port 25 traffic except
to their mail servers, and more are joining them every
day.

Forum] SMTP errors from my system to one of my Imail
servers Hello
All, Ive got 2 Imail servers here (7.15
HF2) and starting today Ive been having problems sending emails through one of
my Imail servers, Ill call it Imail 1. I cannot send using
Outlook or Outlook Express thru Imail 1 but I can if using the Web Interface. I
also cannot telnet to Imail 1. I get an error message that port 25 is being
blocked. Now, my other server, Imail 2, can send emails just fine. I can telnet
to it without issue. Let me also note that Imail 1 is my hosting mail server and
is used by hundreds of folks. No one has contacted me in any way
to complain which leads me to assume
that its me. Ive scanned my system for spyware and such and the only thing it
found was a bunch of cookies and WildTangent, which I removed. Ive tried
disabling my McAfee AV softwares email scanner, Ive rebooted my system, all to
no avail. While I am running XP Pro I am not running SP2 and do not have the XP
firewall active. Any
thoughts on troubleshooting this? Thanks! Serveon,
