You can do a lot with a few 1-2k background graphic slices, and they only
have to load once, so I wouldn't worry too much about that.

Anyway, I was also wondering what the "weight" of the new templates
would be. The nice thing about the current templates is the speed at
which they load. Slowing things down with pretty graphics can suck up a
lot of bandwidth that a busy mail server already requires. Any insight
into how much more bandwidth these new templates will use would be
insightful. It would be nice if there were a "lite" version and the new
graphical version much like we have the current templates and KWM.
