I am troubleshooting an issue with virtual hosts using SMTP auth with
Eudora
6.x and 7.x. I can get Eudora to work with an IPd host, but not virtual.
The difference is that Eudora uses the whole email address as the login
name. But since Eudora won't allow two @'s in the username field, you
must
use something like [EMAIL PROTECTED]
<mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> when authing. To
test is something went astray aform the 8.22 to 2006.01 upgrade I need to
test my hypothesis on an 8.22 server with a virtual host account. Would
someone be willing to test for me or give a temp account to test with. I
will try sending an email message to see if it works. And then you
disable
the account.
Perhaps that's your problem...
Virtuals login username would be:
user%virtualdomainname.com for Eudora
[EMAIL PROTECTED] for MS-Outlook Express and others
Your example above states you are trying to use:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
