You missed the most important feature request -- The ability to put the recipients email address in the footer of the message. Something along the lines of,
"You are subscribed to this forum as [EMAIL PROTECTED]" That way, when the stupid people on AOL join your list and then turn around and report email from your list to AOL as spam, you can identify which AOL user reported the message and remove them. AOL strips out the recipient's email when they send you a TOS report. However, an email address in the footer is left intact. If you have ever been blocked from sending email to AOL because of some boneheads who join your list and then don't have a clue why they receive the email -- you will appreciate the ability to remove the boneheads before it gets to the point where your server is blocked. The best way to implement this feature is by variable substitution. Such as, "You are subscribed to this forum as <recipientemail>" If you provide a number of variables, such as Firstname, Lastname, recipientemail, etc...it provides a lot of nice options for personalizing messages to people on your list. > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:Imail_Forum- > [EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Rod Dorman > Sent: Friday, March 24, 2006 4:29 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] IMail suggestion > > On Friday, March 24, 2006, 09:11:15, Matthew Hanna wrote: > > It would be pretty useful if IMail could somehow include scripting so > > those with the know how can make their own improvements to IMail.
