Does anyone have anything to add to this issue? It's still happening to my users. One thing I read about on BB's forums is to check whether the BB sender has selected to only send the Header of a message if he is responding to a thread in which he was merely CC:ed. I can't confirm this. But several times a day, a BB user will send an email to one or more of our users and that email will be blank. In the logs, the size of the email varies and appears to go through just fine. I wonder if it could be a MIME issue.

BlackBerry 4.0 System Software
BlackBerry 4.0 Core Applications
BlackBerry 4.0 Attachment Service
BlackBerry 4.0 Browser SSL/TLS Security Package
BlackBerry 4.0 Browser JavaScript Package

IMail Server 2006 (9.02)

We primarily use Alltel for our BlackBerry service, however we have some
sales located in the Atlanta area which we could not use Alltel in that case
we use Verizon Wireless.
We have a total of 15 BlackBerry's in our sales group and 3 in IM/IT.
Alltel and Verizon provide us with a Web based service to create BlackBerry
email accounts. We set this profile up so that the reply address is our own
internal mail address and set this account to check every 15 minutes the
IMail Server using POP3. This way we don't have to use Exchange server.

The BlackBerry is set to use the standard message service. Under the
BlackBerry options, Messaging (CMIME): is set to "Web Client"

It has worked great for us so far. If Kevin G. for BH would like for me to swing down to Ipswitchville I don't
mind. You can use my BlackBerry to test with.

hi all,

sounds like some mixed stories on the blackberry front.

joe, just curious but what are you using for your mail client on your
blackberry and what version of imail? are you forwarding to your bb or
popping directly to imail?

We use Blackberry's (7250) exclusively with our sales department. Knock on
wood we haven't had a problem yet.

No special setup needed at least none that I have done.

I've tried troubleshooting it, but often enough, the messages come
through. It's very odd. I can't isolate if it's a client issue, a
Blackberry issue, an Imail issue.

It's not uncommon, however.

Hi,

My boss has a blackberry and all mail:
1) Is completely base64, even if it's plain text
2) Has a plain text signature ending normally defined at the provider
website
3) Has a few extra bytes with random chars *after* the signature

Don't know if that is because of an error at the provider (Vodafone NL)
or
a
blackberry problem. Nor wheter it has any relation to your problem. But
maybe it get you thinking in the right direction.

Groetjes,

Bonno Bloksma

Does anyone have any insight into this Blackberry issue. To recap:
bodies
are stripped from any message sent from a Blackberry device UNLESS that
message has an attachment (then the body is displayed correctly).
Below
is a log snippet of an email with no attachment. It appears OK to me.
Thanks.

Here is the log snippet. I don't have the actual email file at this
point, but I will have the user who received the blank email send it
to
me. I did read at the Ipswitch online forums about someone who had
the
same problem (they said that it happened with any email *without* an
attachment for some odd reason), but no one had responded to him.
Here's
the log. Any help would be appreciated.

As much information as possible...
