Just forward their mail to the -NUL mailbox.
In other words, if the user account is jdoe, then forward mail to
jdoe-NUL. That deletes mail from the mailbox. Alternately you can
use the mailbox action of delete when forwarding, though it may be that 7.15
didn't have that. If so, forwarding to -NUL should still
work.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Delete all email to a certain
account Hi, Due to a business realignment, a lot of our folks are no longer with us. I have been intstructed to set up an autoreply advising people that email the folks that have gone, that they are no longer with us. I have also been instructed to make sure that any mail that they receive is deleted from their mailbox, so we don't have unread mail piling up on the server. The autoreply I know how to set. I am unsure how to remove mail automatically from their mailbox. I am also unsure what order this is done in. If I set up a rule to delete all mail to their address, will the autoreply ever get sent out? What is the best way to handle this? I'm running an older version of IMAIL, V7.15. Thanks! |
